New Employers
- Fed up with inflexible training provision?
- Frustrated because you want to be more involved in the training of your own staff?
- Looking for a training provider that brings the training to your salon at a time that suits your business?
For the past 25 years we have been working with around 75 partner salons across Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire providing Hairdressing apprenticeships. Training for apprentices is fully sponsored by the government for 16-18 year-olds (so no fees to pay) and our courses for adults are competitively priced. Apprenticeships for those aged 19+ are co-funded, meaning that employers make a contribution to the training costs.
We really understand the hairdressing industry and start by talking with you about how we can best meet your needs. This is to find out about your existing training arrangements, the ambitions you have for your business and any challenges you face.
We carry out a health and safety check on your premises because we have a responsibility for safeguarding those on government-funded training programmes. This check usually takes about 45 minutes. You will be given help and advice if you need to make any adjustments to your existing health and safety arrangements.
If you take on an apprentice aged 16 - 18 years you will be eligible for an incentive payment of £1,000. This is paid in two stages, £500 after three months and £500 after one year.
Your apprentices will receive their training and assessments in your salon and you will have the choice of them taking their End Point Assessment in your salon or an assessment centre. From the moment they are signed up as an apprentice with us, our trainer/assessors come to you. We work together because your role in the development of your staff is crucial to their success, and the success of your business.
Research shows that involving the parents/carers of new apprentices who are under 18, greatly improves their chances of completing their apprenticeship. The support apprentices receive at home goes a long way in reinforcing messages about working hard, taking responsibility and completing work on time. ITS will invite parents/carers to the apprenticeship skills check.
