End Point Assessment analysis 2020-21

We are acutely aware of the many challenges presented by the pandemic and are immensely proud of each and every apprentice within our partner salon network for demonstrating such resilience, positivity and commitment to their studies whilst adapting to the ever-changing government guidance. You only need to take a look at this month's 'Apprentice of the Month' entries at the foot of this newsletter (a record thirty-one!) to appreciate the raw talent and high skills-level of our current cohort.

We are therefore delighted to share with you, analysis of EPA's taken between 01/08/2020 - 31/07/2021 which reflect the outstanding achievements of apprentices during a challenging and turbulent year. We would like to thank our partner salons for their ongoing support in enabling apprentices to progress and achieve and look forward to working together to build upon these successes in 2021-22:

Twenty-two EPA's were completed between 01/08/2020 and 31/07/2021:

• 17 Face to face assessments (77%)
• 5 Discretion Route (23%)

Hire a new apprentice incentive…last chance!

To be eligible for the hire a new apprentice incentive, you must have employed the apprentice between 1st April and 30th September. However, the start date for the apprenticeship can be up to 30th November. So, for those that are signed up after September, you will not miss out on the incentive, provided the apprentice is signed up by 30th November. You must however be aware that the deadline for claiming the incentive on the apprenticeship service is also 30th November.

Please note that ITS is required to carry out a thorough skills check and prior learning assessment ahead of any sign up. The skills check must be a separate visit to the sign up to allow for any adjustments to duration, content and funding to be made and evidenced in the sign-up paperwork. Therefore if you have an apprentice that you employed between 1st April and 30th September that is yet to be signed up, please ask them to fill out the online application form asap to allow for the verification and eligibility checks to take place ahead of a skills check in October and sign up in November.

September employer feedback survey

The opinions of our partner salons matter a great deal to us. 'Pre-Covid' you will have received a quarterly courtesy call to enable us to collate your feedback on the service we provide to you.

We understand that things have now changed, and we are aware that you may not have time to take our calls or answer questions in as much detail as you would like to. For this reason, we will be implementing the new 'Employer Feedback Survey'.

This will provide you with the opportunity to have your say and to share any feedback you may have. The survey has been designed to collate your feedback succinctly in the form of five questions and can be completed at any time throughout the month of September.

The survey link will be sent directly to you via email in the next few days and all you need to do is answer the questions and click submit.

Salon International 2021

Salon International takes place from Saturday 16 to Monday 18 October at ExCel London. The event is packed with demonstrations from the very best in hairdressing and you can now view the schedule across the three days here . Don't forget to book your ticket to Salon International here. You can also get free access to Professional Beauty London, which is running at the same time as #Salon21.
