There are various ways to become a trained hairdresser - go to college full-time, go to college on day release or train with us and get paid to learn in the workplace.

Apprenticeships: (equal to 5 GCSEs) are designed for school and college leavers and offer a sound basis on which to build a career. Available in a wide choice of occupational areas, they offer a chance to gain a Diploma in Hairdressing and to develop a range of Key Skills.

Advanced Apprenticeships: (equal to two good A Levels) These provide a route for young people aspiring to be supervisors, junior managers, technicians and craftsmen and women. All advanced apprentices learn to NVQ Level 3 including Key Skills. Some occupations require advanced apprentices to study for a Technical Certificate, but this is no longer a requirement for hairdressing.
