With this in mind we are launching a new development programme for trainer/assessors who are SALON BASED to offer Partner Salons greater involvement in the training of their Apprentices.
The new development programme will make it possible for those with drive and ambition to become fully qualified to train and assess your Apprentices with our support and guidance. You could even go on to become a High level Partner Salon.
What sort of people make good trainer/assessors?
Trainer/assessors are people-centred and make things happen. They are up-to-date and possess a rounded knowledge of hairdressing; they have well-honed practical skills, are excellent communicators and organised. More importantly they engage with those they teach and can switch people on to learning - especially teenagers who may have become disaffected by school. They are good role models, motivators, are prepared to use e-technology and able to teach everything from pin curling to colour correction.
The development programme includes:
- Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (formally known as A1 assessor award)
- Charted Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) level 2 health and safety in the workplace award
- Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)
- E-portfolio training
- E-learning training
