About Inter Training Services Limited

Founded in 1996, ITS is a private limited company owned by Keith and Lesley Ellis who between them, have over 75 years of hairdressing experience ranging from teaching, writing text books, salon and session work. Through their personal expertise and experience, 'Team Ellis' was chosen to help work on the first national occupational standards for hairdressing. Their personal commitment to the industry alongside with the skills of their enthusiastic team ensures that ITS continues to be at the forefront of hair education in the south east.

How does ITS deliver Apprenticeships?
We have a team of qualified trainers and assessors who all possess an excellent understanding and knowledge of the hair industry. These trainers and assessors travel to every salon we work with to deliver the Apprenticeship on the employer's premises. This way of learning ensures Apprentices develop an acute understanding of salon life, encountering real salon situations with real clients and real commercial demands. This gives each Apprentice a solid foundation for their chosen career.

Who is eligible to be an Apprenticeship with ITS?
We offer Intermediate Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships for those aged 16-18 years who work full-time employment in a salon. Those aged 19 and above must also hold a full-time position in a salon but their employer will have to contribute towards the training costs.

All training delivery takes place on employers’ premises which has been identified as a key strength. ITS is one of just 21 per cent of all providers who take learning to the employer and learners rather than requiring travel to a training venue. One-to-one training is supported by innovative use of e-technology and 24/7 access to learning and assessment via the internet. ITS has developed a unique approach to working with businesses through an established network of Partner Salons and we encourage employers to be involved in the development of their staff alongside ITS.
